Nitrogen and phosphorus release from paper mill biosolids as affected by material source and soil type under controlled incubation

چکیده

Combined paper mill biosolids (PB) are a well-known fertilizing source of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P). Many jurisdictions have established default values for estimating their agronomic N P contribution, but nutrient release can vary with chemical properties, this has been little studied. The objective incubation study was to compare four PB different sources along de-inking sludge (DPS) in three contrasting soils under controlled conditions (25 °C, 60% water-filled pore space). Treatments consisted or DPS at 50 Mg fresh mass ha ?1 , 30 plus inorganic supply 100 kg available NP fertilizer, an unfertilized control. Measurements NO 3 + NH 4 -N were made after d 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 wk incubation. Mehlich-3 measured 2 Nitrogen mineralization generally declined few days addition then gradually constantly increased. also increased time. By the end incubation, net averaged 30% (7%–49%) 75% (16%–116%) respectively. intensity release, however, varied material characteristics soil type. Mineral promoted level comparable fertilizer. Soil immobilization occurred application. Current value used Quebec Ontario is appropriate not P.

Nitrogen and Phosphorus Accumulation and Remobilization of Durum Wheat as Affected by Soil Gravel Content

Soil gravel content affects many soil physical properties, as well as crop yield. Little is known regarding the influence of soil gravel content on growth and nutrient uptake of durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.). The accumulation of nitrogen and phosphorous during the vegetative and reproductive periods and the contribution of pre-anthesis assimilates to grain N and P content have been evaluat...

A global analysis of fine root production as affected by soil nitrogen and phosphorus.

Fine root production is the largest component of belowground production and plays substantial roles in the biogeochemical cycles of terrestrial ecosystems. The increasing availability of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) due to human activities is expected to increase aboveground net primary production (ANNP), but the response of fine root production to N and P remains unclear. If roots respond t...

Yield and chemical composition of 'Piarom' Date-Palm Phoenix dactylifera as affected by nitrogen and phosphorus levels

Extraordinary importance of Date-Palm, Phoenix dactylifera especially ‘Piarom’ variety and also undeniable effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on yield and quality of this product, caused this research to be accomplished. The research was performed during two years on 72 (4*3*3*2=72 trees) fruitful, 12 years old trees in Hormozgan province. Treatments were consisted of four levels of nitrogen (0,...

Iron Reduction and Phosphorus Release from Lake Sediments and Bt Horizon Soil: Incubation Studies to Explore Phosphorus Cycling

Sediment from two Georgia Piedmont impoundments and soil from the Georgia Piedmont Bt horizon were incubated with an easily consumable organic carbon substrate in an anaerobic environment to observe iron reduction and phosphorus release. 97% of porewater iron in the Bt horizon soil, 96% of porewater iron in Lake Lanier sediments, and 93% of porewater iron in Lake Oglethorpe sediments was reduce...
